Pontybrenin Primary School opened in 1908, moved to a new school in 1977, and is situated in an urban location some 11 miles from Swansea City Centre and within easy reach of the Gower peninsular, an area of outstanding beauty situated off Glyn Rhosyn, not far from the main Llanelli to Swansea road. The school caters for children 4 - 11 years, also providing part - time nursery education for pupils who have attained their 3rd birthday.

At Pontybrenin we are proud of the education we offer. Committed Staff and active Governing Body work hard to provide a good quality education for all the children in the school. Underpinning all we do is the belief that every moment a child is in school must be used effectively - if time is wasted, it is lost forever and cannot be given back.

Schools Aims

All stakeholders combine to:

  • Create a happy and safe school environment which will promote the intellectual, emotional, physical, social, moral and spiritual development of each child to the maximum of his or her potential.

  • Foster in every child a desire for learning and to encourage that learning through the acquisition of skills, concepts and knowledge which are within the National Curriculum.

  • Educate every child to become a responsible member of society, especially the community in which he or she lives.
